Orange-themed orangery for afternoon tea, yes, it is both literal and figurative. The quality of light in this upstairs bedroom reminds us of an orangery. Juxtaposition of the tradition and the contemporary (both in the conceptualization of the high-tea idea and the implementation of the design. The plants from the loquat tree to the orchids to the lemon cypress complement the orangery theme and effortlessly demonstrates the marriage of an interior and garden environment

We envisioned bringing the outdoors in and celebrating the natural light in the space. The collaboration with the Buffalo & Erie Botanical Gardens provided the orchids, the bonsai, and the loquat tree that frames the tablescape and the accent wall.
The table décor is all hand-made dinnerware and drinkware etched in 24-carat gold that is effortlessly styled with the orange-themed setting visible throughout the orangery. The motif for the window panels that are also visible in the complementing space 2 were laser cut and derived from the citrus grove wallpaper. The space celebrates the duality of traditions and the contemporary, the past and the present, the serious and the playful, and yesterday today, and tomorrow. We successfully juxtaposes colors, textures, patterns, and light in this welcoming space.
